These appointments all take place in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. The un-pressured style of appointment allows plenty of time to talk about your pregnancy and your plans for birth, as well as planning for the postnatal period.

Continuity of carer from a known and trusted midwife has been shown to

• Increase the likelihood of a physiological birth

• Reduce the likelihood of a caesarean section or forceps delivery

• Shorten labour

• Reduce the amount of pain-relieving drugs women use

• Increase the number of women who successfully breastfeed

• Increase the number of women who are happy with their birth experience

• Reduce the likelihood of women suffering from postnatal depression

A positive birth experience is not so much about the method or place of birth itself, but more about feeling listened to, included, validated, valued, cared for and supported. Building a trusting relationship with your midwife creates both physical and psychological safety and helps to optimise physiological birth. But most importantly a birth that aligns with you, is what will serve and support you best and that is different for everyone.

Your safety is always at the forefront of the care I provide. You can be assured that your birth team will be highly experienced and trained professionals. We carry equipment and drugs for all emergency situations and we are highly trained to manage these situations.

As midwives, we use the NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) guidelines to provide gold-standard midwifery care, as well as being up to date with the latest research to ensure the care you receive is current and underpinned by evidence.

All midwives are registered with the NMC and work under the NMC's code of conduct to maintain their professional PIN. I am also a member of The Royal College of Nursing and Independent Midwives U.K. you can view my profile here

Every homebirth is attended by two midwives and you will have the opportunity to meet them during an antenatal appointment with me before you are due, so that you have met your birth team in advance and feel comfortable.

It is a legal requirement in this country for all midwives to have full indemnity insurance and this is included in every package of birth care. All of our birth collective are also registered with Zest and we access insurance through them, from SKUL. You can view my profile here

I offer midwifery services up to approximately one hour from my home in Chelmsford, Essex. Travel expenses are included in the care price.

I offer Sneak Peak Early Gender DNA home testing and hypnobirthing/antenatal courses within a 30 minute drive of Chelmsford in Essex. I can travel further for an additional 45p per mile (no additional fee for clients booking a full or antenatal care plan).
